about this event

Memoir shares the same principles as fiction apart from the author’s commitment to tell the truth. What is the truth of your story? How do you find the heart of your story and share it in a compelling way?

In this workshop, award-winning memoirist and author coach, Joelle Tamraz, will draw from published examples to explore how to excavate your story.

We will talk about what memoir is and is not; how to curate events and details to move the story forward; writing in scenes and evoking a particular time and place. There will be time for questions and a memoir-writing exercise.

Writing memoir transforms experience. Find out what you can transform
