During the first week of June, hundreds of events and celebrations are held across the UK, recognising the value of volunteers. Volunteers’ Week gives a chance to say thank you to all the volunteers who give their time to make amazing contributions to organisations, including Cranleigh Arts Centre.
The Arts Centre was set up in 1978, when local communities came together to create a platform for a diverse range of arts activities, which aim “to enrich, entertain and inspire.” With now over 100 volunteers donating their time, the Arts Centre is currently the largest volunteer organisation in Cranleigh.
Today, the volunteers remain at the heart of the organisation, so as a personal thank you, on Thursday 6th June, Cranleigh Arts Centre hosted a volunteer’s tea and coffee morning, with free refreshments, including homemade cakes, for all those who give their time to help out. Our volunteers play a vital role and are the key to the success of the Arts Centre.

A very big thank you from us all!
“As Volunteer Coordinator my role is to recruit, train and support volunteers during their journey with us. Cranleigh Arts volunteers are passionate about the work they do and each and every one strives to offer our customers exceptional customer service. Our aim as an organisation is to be inclusive in our volunteering opportunities and we have people offering us time with a diverse range of skills and abilities. During Volunteer’s Week I want to thank each and every volunteer for choosing to offer their time to Cranleigh Arts – we value and appreciate the contribution you make.” Katie, Volunteer Coordinator
“During my time as Chairman of the Board of Trustees I have understood even more and indeed been humbled by the commitment and contribution of our volunteers. Their feeling for the arts is matched by their generosity in all they give to the Arts Centre.” Bob, Chairman of the Board of Trustees
“We are blessed to have such a fantastic team of volunteers supporting us at Cranleigh Arts. They are at the very heart of all that we do. Every cup of tea sold, every ticket bought and every event that we put on can only happen thanks to the support and hard work generously invested by our volunteers.” Peter, Programme Coordinator
