about this event

Damon Hill OBE was Formula 1 World Champion in 1996 and remains one of motor sport’s top personalities, largely through his television work as a member of the Sky F1 presentation team.

The son of double World Champion, Graham Hill, Damon won 22 Grands Prix in a F1 career spanning seven seasons.

During that time, Damon worked closely with Maurice Hamilton, a local F1 journalist who has covered more than 500 Grands Prix as a motor sport correspondent and broadcaster.

Damon and Maurice have collaborated on regular columns and on three books, one of which was a best seller in 1994.

They will chat about Damon’s life in motor sport and his role as patron of halow, a Guildford-based charity focussed on people aged 16+ with learning disabilities and/or on the autism spectrum. Part of the proceeds from this evening will support halow.

Maurice has been present for all of Damon’s 115 Grands Prix and witnessed first-hand the highs and lows of a fascinating career. It promises to be a lively chat!

This concert is a fundraiser for halow and Cranleigh Arts.

After the show there will be a book signing in the Gallery where you will be able to purchse the books.
