After several years in a career as an actress, Elizabeth Calthorpe married and started painting. Her work has been exhibited by the Society of Wildlife Artists and the Society of Women Artists and by several UK galleries, and is in private collections in the USA and Singapore. She is a member of the Society of Equestrian Artists and the Guildford and Farnham Arts Societies, and is the winner of last year’s Cranleigh Arts Open Exhibition. She enjoys painting most subjects – animals, land and seascapes, beach scenes and still life – and for many years she also enjoyed sketching the pupils rehearsing at the Yehudi Menuhin School of Music.
Elizabeth was the winner of a previous Cranleigh Arts Open Exhibition and will be in our gallery on Thursday 20 March from 11 am – 1 pm to give you the chance to meet the artist!
